Joe Domenici has a Bachelor of Economics from the Australian National University, with the major in Accounting. He then studied contracts law, company law and taxation law at the University of Canberra.
After completing his studies in 1977, Joe decided to experience the small business sector in retail, before starting his career in either tax accounting or finance.
Joe managed a retail outlet for three years and the experience has put him in good stead. He understands well the everyday concerns of conducting a profitable business.
In 1976, Joe joined a financial institution where he was employed as a loans officer. In 1977, he took up the opportunity to join the ATO. He gained invaluable experience in the assessing, audit and investigation sections. In 1983, Joe began his practice as a registered tax agent and accountant.
After over 30 years in practice as a sole practitioner, and due to the expansion of his client base, he has been joined by Gerardo D’Ambrosio.
In 2001, Gerardo gained a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of Canberra, with other majors in Auditing, Commercial law and a minor in Management Accounting.
Prior to his University studies, Gerardo studied for an Advanced Diploma in Accounting at the Canberra Institute of Technology. During the time of his studies, which were completed on a part-time basis, Gerardo was employed as a Financial Controller and Management Accountant for a construction company.
During his years at University Gerardo was also employed as a part-time accountant assisting in management based accounts for trading entities. Working in these industries and gaining a strong knowledge of the GST legislation, Gerardo in November 2002 was provided with an opportunity to work with the ATO as an auditor.
Whilst with the ATO Gerardo constantly received many accolades for his work and client service skills from senior executives.
On 26 September 2014 Gerardo voluntarily terminated his employment with the ATO to take up a career as an accountant and partner with Joseph Domenici. This was originally Gerardo’s dream from University, and 12 years on, with the stars aligning to suit his needs, Gerardo made the decision to fulfil it.
